Rocky Mountain Heat release

Vivian Arend is hosting a Cowboy Countdown Contest and she’s popped in today to ask us to join her in getting ready for her latest release, Rocky Mountain Heat coming August 31st to Liquid Silver Books. And she’s got a question for us:

Have you ever been to a small town picnic?

I actually never have, although I’ve been to LOADS of family picnics. If you saw how many aunts, uncles and cousins I have, you may think we resemble a small town! Y’all know I love cowboy AND I love Viv’s books, so to say I’m anxiously awaiting the release of this book would be putting it mildly to say the least!

Six Pack Ranch, Book 1

Blake Coleman is old enough to know that acting on impulse causes nothing but a heap of trouble. But when trouble’s a blonde wearing a cowboy hat with slim legs that go on forever, what’s a man to do? Wanting the sweet girl next door is just wrong. Hell, he was the one that taught her to ride a horse and now all he can think about is riding her. The responsible thing to do is keep his hands off.

Jaxi has other plans for his hands, and his heart. She may have considered Blake a big brother once but that was a long time ago. She’s all grown up now and ready to convince him that she’s just what he’s been waiting for.

Add the complication of two sexy younger brothers who have suddenly noticed Jaxi and things heat up fast. Blake’s gonna have to decide if a little trouble is worth fighting for.

Answer the question in the comments to be entered to win the prize in the Cowboy Countdown. For more info, visit Where Dreams Become Reality.

I actually have been to a town picnic. The town we lived in when I was a little girl used to do a yearly street fair and had a community picnic and fireworks at the end of the day.

I have been to a town picnic! I grew up in a small midwestern town and each year (at the end of summer) we would have a big picnic/town party at the park.

Of course. The town I live in has about 1,200 people, so every picnic is a small town picnic.

Yes, when we lived in Mountain Home, Idaho. I love small towns. And I love your books, Mari! Thanks for the yummy cowboy, too!

Nope. Again. I honestly don’t think I have been on a picnic…..oh nope that isn’t true! For my birthday 3 years ago, a bunch of friends went to Niagara Falls with hubby and I. We had a picnic on the grass watching the falls. It was nice 😀

No, I never have been to a town picnic. I have been on a family picnic of sorts. We have taken the kids to the park and had some snacks. I don’t know if it would really qualify as a picnic, but to them it did. My husband and I did have a real picnic for one of our anniversaries. It was so nice and quiet. A nice change, when you normally go out to eat as the special day, to change it up a bit 🙂

In Honokaa, Hawaii. They roasted a pig in the ground covered with banana leaves and coals. It was a fun day.

I live in a small town and after Desert Storm, it was decided by the town council that we would have a town picnic every year in the summer to honor the soldiers and to raise money for our local reserves, fire department, and police station. It’s pretty awesome. In addition to the picnic and street dance, there’s volleyball, basketball, softball, and baseball tournaments. Rides for the kids including horseback riding and various contests.

Everyone has a great time and I look forward to it every summer.

No, I have never been on a small town picnic. Many picnics to parks, relatives, and barbecues. That makes me think of Steel Magnolias. They seem to always have a town picnic. It looks like fun!!!

Picnic? What? You want me to go on a picnic with him!?! OK — see you next week! *drool*.

Sigh — as reality crashes in — no, I have never been to a small town picnic 😉 Lots of picnics in big cities though.

Viv, you know I can barely wait for this one! WHY does LS release their books so late in the day!?!?!

Many many times. Growing up in a small town, they are a yearly event on the 4th of July.

Yes, many of the small town arounds here have community festivals that we go to for fun. The people at them are always nice and there’s always good food.

  13. By Brenda Rupp on

Yes I’ve been to a small town picnic while staying with my Grandmother! The people were so nice and the food was awesome!

I have never been to a small town picnic….Or even a small town. I’m born and raised in New York City and there are no small towns where I am.

  15. By Fedora on

Sadly no–I’ve clearly been a city girl, and haven’t spent enough time in any small towns to have had the pleasure!
