This and That!
Tequila Truth will be released on Tuesday–finally. I feel as though a lifetime has passed since I wrote this story and in a writing sense, it has! I submitted TT to two publishers at the same time. I’ve heard that’s a no-no, but I’m still finding my way around in the world of ebook publishing. I submitted it to my new editor at Samhain and to Ellora’s Cave. You have to understand, at the time, I submitted everything to Ellora’s Cave, only to receive the standard rejection letter–had the thing memorized at one point and I fully expected the same result with TT!
However, with Tequila Truth, both companies expressed interest! Best and worst day of my life–two editors were interested in my story and I had to choose! Samhain offered the contract first and I let that make my decision for me. The EC editor was extremely understanding and, in fact, she’s gone on to accept Kiss Me, Kate, Retreat, and Covert Lessons since then!
I am looking forward to the release of this story and invite you to join me on Monday, Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. (EST) at the samhaincafe on yahoo groups. I’m hosting a Tequila Truth party (BYOB!).
The day after Thanksgiving will be the release of Retreat. I suppose, like teachers, writers tend to have favorites and for me, Retreat is a personal favorite. I’m not even sure why, except I still feel a great sense of pride and accomplishment when I re-read it.
I haven’t received a release date on Covert Lessons yet, although I’m hoping it will hit the ebook shelves in Jan. 2009. It is finished and awaiting a final look-through by the FLE. I’m also anxiously awaiting the cover art!
Other than that, I have two submissions floating around–one at Ellora’s Cave and another at Samhain. Keep your fingers crossed for me! I’m working on a contemporary romance and a trilogy of westerns at the moment, as well as seriously editing a time-travel historical that I finished a couple of years ago.
I love writing and wish I had more time to devote to it. With a full-time job, two teenagers and hubby, there never seem to be enough hours in the day!
