Let the summer begin…

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. It’s been summer for weeks, but I feel like I’ve spent them at the bottom of a deep, dark hole and today is the first day I’ve been able to peek my head out and enjoy the sunshine. I think I tend toward an obssessive compulsive personality (only a wee little one), BUT-when I make a list, I literally don’t rest until it’s finished. My summer list (I thought) was quite simple, but nothing is ever as it seems. There were only two things on the damn thing–clean my house (really clean it) and get caught up on my writing.

SO–today I finished scrubbing the upstairs bathroom (last room in the house that hadn’t been touched with lots of soap and water) and yesterday I finished the last bit of writing.

I can’t tell you how good it feels! My house is sparkly and smells good and the writing….well, let’s see…

1. TEQUILA TRUTH has been through final line edits, so now all that’s left to do is wait for the cover art, which I’m told should arrive any time now. I am NOT a patient person. Getting the cover is the most exciting part for me.

2. KISS ME, KATE has been through first round edits. I expect second round edits (which are always quicker and easier) next week and then that baby should be ready to put to bed. No cover for that one yet either, but again I’m told anyday now.

3. I’ve submitted UNDERCOVER to Samhain and COMMITMENT (greatly revised) to Ellora’s Cave, so now all I have to do is wait patiently (see #1) for a response from my editors. Please God let them offer me a contract…

I have a girlfriend coming to visit for a week. We’re squeezing in a trip to Baltimore and the Inner Harbor. Then my mum-in-law comes to stay for six weeks. She’s from Liverpool, England and is the sweetest person on earth. We’ve planned a week in Pigeon Forge, TN, four days in the Adirondacks, and hopefully a long weekend at Virginia Beach.

So, YEE HAW–let the summer begin!
